Dubai - Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority (DSOA), the region's premier hub for electronic-based industries, announced its participation in organizing a Seminar on "Post-Tensioning Design & Construction in collaboration with experts from San Francisco University, Freyssinet the world leader in specialized construction, and ADAPT Corporation, which takes place at the Le Meridian Airport Hotel, on May 17, 2007.
Eng. Muammar Khaled Al Katheeri, Director of Planning and Construction, Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority, said: "In line with the stable and rapid growth in the construction sector in Dubai we are pleased to organize this Seminar which will add value to the growing industry and will spread awareness on Post-Tensioning Design & Construction issues in the UAE in general and Dubai in specific".
The Seminar will offer the latest developments in construction technology, code provisions, design procedures, and software tools, in addition to state-of-the-art methods for graphical modeling of structures for analysis and design of floor systems, including efficient use of ADAPT's model generation tools. It will also provide the know-how and means for efficient, economical and expeditious designs for post-tensioned buildings and parking structures for gravity, earthquake/wind loading.
The seminar will also highlight Post-Tensioning Technology for Slabs and Beams, This leads to the concepts and design procedure for earthquake prone regions, wind loading and catastrophic loads, such as blasts. Next it will cover the modern design concepts, and explains in details the design procedures, Evaluation and Repair of post-tensioned floors, and application of building design software in seismic design.
