Doha: College of the North Atlantic - Qatar is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Salem Al-Naemi as the 6th President of CNA-Q, effective January 14th, 2021.

Dr. Salem joined the College in November, 2018 as Vice President, Finance & Administration and was appointed Acting President in June, 2020.      

Dr. Al-Naemi has more than 25 years of work experience in both government and private sectors.  He is a successful executive with considerable leadership experience in education, government and business organizations such as Qatar University, Statistics Department/Planning Council, Supreme Education Council and Milaha to name a few. 

He holds an MBA and PhD in Computer Science. He began his career as an Assistant Professor and taught at Qatar University. His expertise lies in organizational strategies, managerial leadership, communication and operational efficiency to accomplish goals and achieve success for an organization.

 He has worked with a diverse workforce and in many multi-national organizations in key positions such as Executive Vice President of Support Services, CFO, and CIO, handling finances, information technology, human capital and administration functions.

Commenting on his appointment Dr. Al-Naemi said: “I would like to thank H.E. Dr. Mohammed Abdul Wahed Ali Al-Hammadi for his trust in me to lead this important and crucial technical higher education in Qatar, and I would like to extend my thanks to the Board of Trustees and its Chairman, Dr. Mohammed bin Saleh Al-Sada, for the trust they put in me. It is an honor to be heading this institution during its transformation phase; we will soon become an applied University. I will do my best to lead by example, show guidance, and inspire everyone to push forward and achieve greatness.”
