Dubai, UAE: Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has connected its outgoing payment system with Emirates NBD bank according to the Host to Host (H2H) protocol. The integration will speed up outgoing payments and allow automatic and simultaneous transfer of payment data and approvals. DEWA is the first government organisation to implement the integration with the bank. This supports DEWA’s commitment to streamlining financial transactions for all stakeholders, according to the highest international standards.

"We strive to adopt innovative channels and mechanisms that enhance the quality of our services and the happiness of our stakeholders, including customers, suppliers and employees, based on the highest standards of efficiency and reliability. This supports our efforts to make Dubai the smartest and happiest city in the world by employing the latest technologies that support national plans and strategies, including the UAE Centennial 2071, which is a long-term government plan to prepare the UAE and young Emiratis for the future; the UAE Artificial Intelligence Strategy to create productive, creative, and innovative environments through the investment and application of AI techniques and tools; and the Dubai Plan 2021, which aims for Dubai Government to be proactive and creative in meeting the needs of individuals and society as a whole. This is done by adopting disruptive technologies and keeping pace with the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Integrating DEWA’s outgoing payment system with Emirates NBD will allow the payment data files and approvals in SAP to be forwarded directly to the bank. This streamlines the payments to suppliers and contractors, refunds of security deposits for customers, and transferring of employees’ salaries,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA.

The integration with Emirates NBD is part of DEWA’s ongoing development efforts by implementing the latest technologies that support its digital transformation. This also enhances its leadership as a pioneering utility that provides quality services to contribute to a brighter, sustainable, and happier future for all stakeholders.
