Sharjah - A delegation of nine MPs from Kenya visited Bee'ah's Waste Management Centre in Sharjah, the region's largest collection of waste segregation and processing facilities. The visit proved to be a success, serving as an effectiveplatform to exchange ideas and tackle key issues related to sustainability. The top delegates gained in-depth insight into Bee'ah'strajectory to date and learnt more about the organization's journey as a full-fledged, Sharjah-based integrated environmental and waste management company.In parallel, both parties discussed potential areas of collaboration and means to curb alarming trends in waste management.
In recent years, Bee'ah has adopted a truly unique approach to waste management best practices, setting industry benchmarks for the region and achieving unprecedented recycling and environmental performance targets in the emirate of Sharjah. It is precisely this vision that propelled the Kenyan delegation to instigate the visit.
While touring the facilities, the delegation - led by Honorary MP and Chairperson of the Committee Amina Abdalla and Kenyan Ambassador to the UAE Mohamed Gello - was able to delve deeper into Bee'ah's expanding waste management operations anddeliberate plans that could helpadvance common sustainability goals.

In 2013 alone, Bee'ah - the Middle East's leading and award winning integrated environmental and waste management company - managed over 2.1 million tonnes of waste and diverted over 60% of waste from landfills in Sharjah, further advancing its goal of achieving zero-waste to landfill in the emirate.
