The Korea Tourism Organization launch design contest.
Sharjah - June 28, 2006. This summer will see the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) stage a series of events that will allow contestants to have the opportunity to win from a grand total of over $ 52,000. The competition will be divided into the three categories of photography, flash animation and poster design.
Sponsored by The Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Korea Tourism Association, Korea Association of Travel Agents, and Korea Institute of Design Promotion; Kim Jong Min, CEO of KTO, organized the competition as part of an initiative to increase awareness of the tourism industry in Korea, and to advertise Korea abroad.
'This competition serves two purposes that are both beneficial for the people of Korea.' said Kim Jong Min. 'Not only will it actively promote interest both regionally and internationally for tourism in Korea, but it is also an opportunity for people to partake in an event that will allow them to express their creativity in an open environment that will allow for it to be recognized and appreciated.'
The contest is part of a long running series of annual competitions held by the KTO, with the Photo Contest and the Poster Contest now in their 34th and 16th year respectively. The Flash Animation segment of the contest is a new division being held for the first time this year.
With the grand prizes for each category being presented by the Korean President, Roh Moo-hyun and prize money totaling A$72,000, the competition is expected to garner much interest from both amateurs and design enthusiasts alike.
The submission dates for the competition is between July 4th and July 28th, with the event culminating on August 31st in an elaborate Award Ceremony and an exhibition that will feature all of the successful entrants' work. The prize winners will be announced on the KTO's website at the beginning of August, with the winners also being notified individually around this time.
