Doha, 03 January 2010 - City Center Doha in partnership with Al Attiya Motors, dealers of Kia in Qatar, announced the donation of all proceeds from their SMS competition in early 2009 to the Qatar Red Crescent Society.
City Center, the post popular shopping mall in Qatar, launched the SMS-Mania promotion to award a Kia Mohave to one lucky winner. The promotion which ran during early 2009, required entrants to text "City Center" to a competition number.
It was a successful interactive campaign for the City Center, in terms of the actual volume of competition entries, said Center Manager Majd Mashfej: "We were extremely satisfied with the individual responses to this promotion and are expecting to launch many more such initiatives in the future. We felt it would be most appropriate to donate all the proceeds from this event to a charity that will benefit Qatar and its people."
City Center Accounts Manager, Mr. Zarrar Bin Khalid handed the cheque to the Qatar Red Crescent Society in December 2009.
The Qatar Red Crescent Society is a private volunteer organization representing the international Red Crescent locally and abroad. The Society offers social and humanitarian services that conform with the principles of the Red Crescent and works closely within the community to spread the message of volunteerism and contributing to causes that can positively influence the lives of those afflicted by various catastrophic events.
