Swarovski design competition and five-day fashion show featuring new, haute couture designs for Emirati Fashions as part of DSS 2006.

BurJuman, Dubai's most upscale shopping destination, continues to prove it is at the forefront of luxury fashions with its first-ever five-day Sheila and Abaya fashion show, offering the latest in trends and innovations on these timeless, graceful local garments by established and up-and-coming designers.
Shoppers can view the glittering event in the Observatory, on the 1st level of BurJuman starting on the 16th of August till the 20th. In addition to the fashion shows, viewers will be treated to daily demonstrations on innovations in design and embellishment. The fashion shows are divided into three separate sections:
- 16-17th (6:30 pm): local retailers showcase their latest collections.
- 18th (7:00 pm): Swarovski Arabian Creation Award. Swarovski, world-renowed pioneers of crystal couture whose brilliant, light-catching designs have graced celebrities such as Madonna, will select the best sheila and abaya design.
- 19-20th (6:30 pm): all of the designs entered in the Swarovski competition will be featured in these shows.
