Boots and Alshaya celebrate successful partnership with opening of Terminal 3 store
Dubai, UAE, 29 October 2012: Boots, the internationally recognised health and beauty retailer, celebrated the opening of its first airside pharmacy in Dubai this week at Dubai International Airport - Terminal 3.
In the presence of Dr. Amin Al-Amiri, Assistant Under Secretary for Medical Practice and License Sector at the Ministry of Health in the UAE, and Mr. Paul Griffiths, Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Airports, the opening was marked with a ribbon cutting ceremony attended by Stefano Pessina, Executive Chairman of Alliance Boots, Ornella Barra, Chief Executive of the Alliance Boots Pharmaceutical Wholesale Division and Mohammed Alshaya, Executive Chairman of M.H. Alshaya.
Boots operates in the Middle East through a partnership between Alliance Boots, the international, pharmacy-led health and beauty group which owns the Boots brand, and M.H. Alshaya, the leading international franchise operator. Since Boots was first established in 1849 it has earned a reputation for providing customers with dependable and reliable healthcare advice and is also renowned for its beauty offer.
Ornella Barra, who oversees the international development of the Boots brand, commented: "We are delighted to celebrate the opening of the Boots store at this major international aviation hub, which will support millions of customers from around the world. This opening is a further illustration of our successful partnership with Alshaya and our ambition to make the Boots brand global."
