BNP Paribas and Les Amis de la Sorbonne Abu Dhabi have renewed their partnership for the third year in a row and jointly host a Banking and Finance Lecture on the 13th May at Paris-Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi.
BNP Paribas have been an on-going supporters of the Paris-Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi since 2010, through their relationship with Les Amis de la Sorbonne. The partnership has seen more than 170 students sponsored and given the opportunity to achieve an International degree locally.
The Banking and Finance lecture, held to mark the on-going relationship was delivered by Jean-Christophe Durand, CEO of Corporate Investment Banking (CIB) for BNP Paribas within the Middle East & Africa. Jean-Christophe, who has an extensive career in banking spanning the Middle East, Africa and Europe, took the opportunity to discuss an industry outlook with students -the current challenges and opportunities facing the sector, and those who work within it. Durand also shared his personal experiences on: how to make a start in a career in finance, what it takes to succeed in Banking and what it means to be part of BNP Paribas, IFR Bank of the year 2012.

The lecture took place at the Oval Hall at the Paris-Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi campus on Al-Reem Island.
