February 11th, 2011, Manama, Bahrain: Bahraini retail and commercial banking institution, BMI Bank recently presented a cheque of BD 10,000 to the American Mission Hospital (AMH) as part of its annual commitment towards the Community Outreach Program run by the Hospital. AMH will be conducting a colon cancer screening and awareness program throughout the social centers in Bahrain and the funds from BMI Bank will be utilized to support the hospitals endeavors to spread awareness of colon cancer amongst the community of Bahrain. A series of screening and educational programs are scheduled for five of the main Social Centers spread around the island. As part of the program, patients will receive general screening that will be used to detect any signs of Colon cancer and will subsequently be given a further screening test that will be performed within the hospital premises.
Presenting the cheque to AMH, Eyad Sater General Manager Support Services at BMI Bank, said:
"I am delighted to announce the renewal of our long term commitment towards the community outreach program that has been ably handled by AMH which is not only the oldest, but also one of the finest hospitals in Bahrain. It is the corporate responsibility of all companies to ensure that each member of our community is able to afford medical care and have the right to be treated when necessary and we applaud AMH for their continuous efforts to educate the community of Bahrain and their endless efforts made to help prevent disease by promoting awareness.
We set up our first ATM at AMH in 2006 as part of our strategic partnership which has strengthened over the years. Our network has today, grown to a total of 10 Branches and 30 ATMs across the country and we will continue to invest in our brand, product, and services as we continue to build our business into a stronger retail and commercial Bank."
