Deployment Reduces Downtime and Increases Availability of Mission Critical Applications
Manama, BAHRAIN October 17, 2004. -VERITAS Software (Nasdaq: VRTS), announced today that Bahrain Airport Services (BAS) has implemented VERITAS Backup Exec and VERITAS Cluster Server to ensure that its vast stores of information are secure from unplanned downtime and remain highly available to employees.
Responsible for the smooth running of ground operations at Bahrain International Airport, BAS handles everything from cargo and engineering to passenger care processes, such as catering. The airport is one of the Middle East's largest and busiest travel hubs and BAS is responsible for the smooth transit of approximately 4.2 million passengers a year. On average, the company prepares 3.8 million meals and handles 160,000 tons of cargo each year, statistics that are likely to increase as the airport's operations expand to utilize its handling capacity of 10 million travellers per annum.
