KSA: As businesses in Saudi Arabia work towards supporting the country’s Saudi Vision 2030, Ashridge Executive Education is organizing an insightful programme for leaders to explore new leadership styles that will help them to achieve higher growth for their companies.
To be held from 14 to 18 October 2018, in Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, the programme can also be customized for individual companies and held at their Saudi offices.
“Our Management Development programme encourages Saudi managers to develop skills that will enable them to take on new responsibilities, improve their leadership style and motivate their team. Understanding your own style is very important. Equally important is the ability to understand others and adapt your approach in order to influence, motivate and get the best out people,” says Rory Hendrikz, General Manager at Ashridge Executive Education.
The Management Development Program introduces new managers to a broad spectrum of management knowledge, provides practical support, and helps accelerate their growth in their organization. Key topics include leadership, strategy, finance, and marketing. This general management program provides a range of opportunities for participants to immediately test and apply their learning. Managers’ accumulated learning is put to the test in Ashridge’s unique computer-based simulation, designed to see how they would cope if they inherited a business with an existing trading history which was desperate for new leadership in order to stay competitive. Competing in teams, participants will make difficult business decisions that require the application of their learning from across the program to positively affect their stock price. Throughout, unexpected disruptions will rock each team’s progress, forcing them to recalibrate.
The participants will be able to recognize their preferred working and management style, and learn how to combine it with other styles. Also, they will improve their ability to build effective teams for accomplishing goals and delivering results, as well as develop awareness of the purpose of different elements of a business and how they interact.
The program has three stages. Prior to start of the program, participants will go through a psychometric assessment to identify their strengths and areas of development to understand their personal leadership style and maximize their ability to motivate others. They will go through supported simulations, outdoor challenges and have the opportunity to practice different leadership styles. Before completing the program, they present their plans to program peers and faculty for feedback and suggestions. Post-program, the participants attend a virtual session to review their progress, earning a Certificate of Application as a result.
