SAP Solutions will Lower Project Costs, Increase Efficiency and Improve Competitiveness in the Regional Market
DUBAI, United Arab Emirates - June 18, 2007: SAP Arabia has announced that Arabian Construction Co. (ACC) one of the Middle East's largest construction companies, has selected the SAP enterprise resource planning (ERP) software to handle its core business processes, replacing various stand-alone systems with a single comprehensive solution.
ACC is associated with the region's largest, tallest and most prestigious building projects as well as large power & desalination facilities. The company, with workforce of 20,000, executes more than 40 projects simultaneously across 6 countries and is currently in the process of expanding into new markets.
ACC's fast expansion and geographical diversity led it to select SAP to replace its different legacy systems. SAP ERP's integration capabilities offer a platform to unify and standardize ACC's business and administrative processes and keep track of the performance of its projects in real time.
"We chose SAP after having evaluated leading ERP solutions in the market, and we found it to be best suited to our requirements in construction project life-cycle management," said Salah Itani, CFO, ACC. "We plan to enhance our competitive edge by integrating our industry know-how with SAP systems."
As construction projects in the region are becoming larger and more complex, reducing operational risk is of paramount importance to contractors. ACC's large scale projects will benefit from the anticipated improvement in cost control, scheduling, materials planning and procurement.
Ghassan Darri, Sales Director, SAP Arabia said: "The construction industry has grown rapidly in the Middle East and operates in a competitive and risky market. Major industry players such as ACC need tools to sustain their growth. Software is one such tool, and SAP is proud to have provided them with the world's leading ERP solution for the engineering and construction industry."
