On January 24, 2022 Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Arab Republic of Egypt Sergei Terentiev met with the President of the Egyptian Academy of Scientific Research and Technology Mahmoud Sakr.

The parties discussed the state of the Belarusian-Egyptian cooperation in the field of science, interaction between national academies of sciences within the framework of the implementation of current joint projects. The President of the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology informed about the interest in application of the potential of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus in the framework of important projects of the socio-economic development of Egypt.

An agreement was reached to conduct a visit of Mahmud Saqr to Belarus in 2022 at the helm of the delegation of the Egyptian Academy of Scientific Research and Technology.
