The two parties hold a joint workshop
Abu Dhabi City Municipality - Abu Dhabi City Municipality and the Environment Authority - Abu Dhabi, have reviewed the procedures of issuing environmental permits in respect of infrastructural projects during a joint training workshop recently held by the two parties at the premises of the Municipality.
This workshop is part of the endeavours of the Municipal System to boost the partnership with local entities with the aim of conserving the environment and the environmental resources towards developing joint solutions for the two entities as regards the best means and procedures of issuing environmental permits for projects.
The training workshop targeted engineers, technicians, and project managers at the Abu Dhabi City Municipality in addition to about 40 employees from various sectors of the Municipality.
The workshop aimed at raising the environmental awareness of engineers, technicians, and project managers of the Municipality about the procedures adopted by the Environment Authority - Abu Dhabi in issuing permits in respect of infrastructure, development and investment projects. It has also reviewed some cases and studies in the field of land and marine drilling, in addition to the monitoring of seawater, ground water, environmental permits and air quality.
The workshop touched on a number of key issues such as the procedures of the Environment Authority - Abu Dhabi in licensing infrastructural projects, and studies of assessing the environmental impact of such projects. The workshop also reviewed a case of environmental licensing and its environmental impacts. The Environment Authority - Abu Dhabi presented a paper about the monitoring of ground water, another paper about the monitoring of seawater, a third paper about air quality, and a final paper about land and sea drilling and its environmental impacts.
The worship also reviewed the procedures of licensing development and infrastructure projects adopted by the Environment Authority - Abu Dhabi, stating that the service enables entrepreneurs to apply for licensing development and infrastructural projects from the Environment Authority - Abu Dhabi after studying the construction plans and ensuring that all environmental aspects of the projects conform to the specifications in place.
As part of endeavours of the Environment Authority - Abu Dhabi towards protecting and better managing the environment, the Authority is offering a host of services online in order to save the time & effort of beneficiaries. The online services are quick, efficient and at the same time curb the impact to the environment to the minimum.
At the end of the workshop, the Environment Authority - Abu Dhabi presented certificates of achievement to participants.
