Users of the popular messaging app WhatsApp faced an unexpected outage for several minutes early on Thursday morning.

WhatsApp has stopped working for several users across the globe, as seen on the website Downdetctor.com.

Many users were unable to send or receive messages. Down Detector detected the WhatsApp blackout in many parts of the world, with major outages in western Europe, UAE, and the Levant.

Several users around the world, including UAE residents, took to Twitter say that they are facing issues with the app.
