RIYADH — New coronavirus cases in Saudi Arabia dropped further on Sunday with 756 infections recorded during the past 24 hours.The Kingdom reported 895 new recoveries, the ministry of health said.

It raises the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 320,688, the ministry of health said. On Saturday, 791 new cases were reported.

The Kingdom has been detecting less than 1,000 new cases of the deadly coronavirus per day for the past 10 days, health ministry spokesman Dr. Muhammad Al-Abdel Ali was quoted by Saudi Press Agency (SPA) as saying. The total recoveries till Sunday stood at 296,737.

Thirty-two deaths were also recorded during the past 24 hours, the health ministry said. It takes the total fatalities to 4,081. A total of 1,457 patients are in critical condition.

Makkah topped the list with 74 new infections on Sunday. There were 60 cases in Jeddah, 55 in Hufof, 50 in Dammam, 45 in Madinah, 40 in Yanbu, 39 in Riyadh, 27 in Mobarraz, 23 in Jazan, and 22 in Tabuk.

The rest of the cases were scattered in different cities and governorates across the Kingdom, Dr. Al-Abdel Ali said.

Saudi Arabia recorded its highest daily on increase on June 19 when 4,301 cases were confirmed over a 24-hour period.
