The Pakistan Super League (PSL) could be shifted from the UAE to Pakistan next year (2020), according to Fawad Chaudhry, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting.
"Our prayers, efforts and intention is that this should be the last PSL in Dubai because we want to take the T20 league back to Pakistan after this," Chaudhry said in Dubai on Sunday.
The fourth edition of PSL will be held in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah from Feb. 14 to March 17. However, eight matches will be played in Lahore and Karachi with the port city scheduled to host the final.
The previous edition of PSL witnessed low turnouts in the UAE. But final stages of the PSL matches, which were hosted in Pakistan saw fans pack the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
Fawad Chaudhry and other senior leaders urged people in the UAE to make PSL successful here and watch the matches in the stadium.
Faisal Javed, a member of the Senate, also saw the need to populate grounds to make the event successful.
"We will make every efforts to populate grounds and make PSL successful. We will try that PSL breaks all previous records. Crowd were less during last edition but this time we will do our best to fill the grounds," Javed said.
