Gulf International Private Academy (GIPA) in Al Ain hosted the third edition of its Makers' Fair recently, in line with the UAE's National Agenda and as part of February's nationwide Innovation Month.

The annual event, held under the auspices of the school's chairman of the board and owner Nasser Maktoum Al Sheraifi, was a celebration of accomplishments and a coming together of ideas and people within the community.

The fair showcased a vast range of theme-based, interdisciplinary projects, and was a culmination of middle and high school students' hard work over the course of the year. The students presented their innovative ideas to a four-member judging panel comprised of school principals, coordinators and educational consultants from the community as part of a competition.

Students and guests also had a chance to take part in a variety of interactive live stations.

A fan favourite, the GIPA Publishing House Station, introduced a series of children's books portraying two Emirati characters (Rashed and Hessa), which was written by students of Grade 12. Another crowd pleaser was the augmented reality station where all guests had the chance to escape the real world and delve into another dimension.
