Residents of the Sultanate of Oman have been urged to take their vaccine, either first dose or second dose, only from the field hospital located at the old airport in Seeb.

This is in the wake of the many expats visiting the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre (OCEC) believing that vaccines are still administered there.

"All expatriates are advised to get their first or second dose of vaccine, as the case may be, only from the old Seeb International Airport premises from 8am to 2pm and no registration is needed for the same," informed Dr Nihal Afifi, Head of Primary Health and contact point for vaccination.

However, expatriates wouldn't be receiving any booster dose from the Field Hospital or public hospitals or clinics for the time being and they have to approach private hospitals or clinics.

"All health centers would continue to provide Covid-19 vaccines for Omani citizens, from different clinics. Expatriates, however, have to get them from the private clinics at the moment", said Dr Nihal.

The Ministry of Health, represented by the General Directorate of Health Sciences, had earlier announced the venues where citizens and residents can take their vaccines free of cost.

The Sultan Qaboos University Health Centre will provide first or second dose of vaccine or booster doses to citizens of Seeb wilayat from 8am to 8pm. The people of Bausher, on the other hand, should approach the Al Khuweir North Health Centre between 8am to 8pm for their jabs. The citizens of Muttrah wilayat will receive vaccination from Ruwi Health Centre from 8am to 2pm while people of Muscat wilayat are to get their doses from Muscat Health Centre between 8am and 2pm.

Amerat Health Centre will be providing vaccines for people from Wilayat Amerat from 8am to 2pm and Sahil Health Centre will provide vaccination for Omani citizens of Wilayat of Quryat during the same time.
