Cairo – Egypt’s cabinet announced that Thursday, 28 January, will be an official holiday in celebration of the 25 January Revolution and National Police Day, according to a statement on Wednesday.

In June, the government decided to move any midweek holiday to the following Thursday to give citizens a chance to have a long weekend.

The ministries, state-run authorities, public entities, public-sector companies, and private sector firms will be off on 28 January.
