The UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention on Tuesday reported 644 cases of the Covid-19 coronavirus, along with 410 recoveries. One death was also reported.

More than 71,000 new Covid-19 tests were carried out across the country, taking the total to more than 7.6 million Covid-19 tests.

On Monday, the UAE approved a national policy that will ensure that quality vaccines are readily available across the country. It will also raise awareness about the importance of vaccines and support innovation and research. The policy includes provisions to safeguard public health during emergencies and disease outbreaks.

The National Policy on Vaccinations, which is a multi-sectoral framework for combating communicable diseases and reducing their risks to individuals and society, was approved by the UAE Cabinet chaired by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
