MANAMA — Bahrain reported on Monday 654 new coronavirus cases, marking the highest daily tally in the country since the start of the outbreak of the pandemic, according to the kingdom’s health ministry.

This brings the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country to 15,417.

The ministry said that 5,053 cases are stable out of a total of 5,065 active cases and there are currently 69 cases receiving treatment, of which 12 are in critical health conditions.

Of the new cases, 314 are expatriate workers, 299 are of those who came into contacts with the infected people, and 41 are related to travel.

The ministry also announced that 858 more patients have recovered, raising the total number in the country to 10,326 recoveries.

Meanwhile, the kingdom has so far reported 26 coronavirus-related deaths.
