MANAMA: More than 150 Bahraini students in Cairo who were stranded after the outbreak of Covid-19 returned home yesterday.

Bahrain’s Ambassador to Egypt and permanent representative to the Arab League Hisham Al Jowder followed up the procedures to ensure the safe return of the 157 citizens at the airport in Cairo.

“The embassy in Cairo is working around the clock to monitor the conditions of all Bahraini citizens present in various areas in Egypt,” said Mr Al Jowder in a statement.

“The embassy received support from the Egyptian Foreign Ministry and other various competent authorities,” he added.

He also praised the co-operation of the people of Egypt who facilitated the return of the citizens.
