ABU DHABI, 6th August, 2015 (WAM) ? The Zakat Fund has announced that 315 families will benefit from AED2.268 million provided to Tawasul, an initiative dedicated to supporting families of inmates held in punitive and correctional institutions.
Abdullah bin Aqeedah Al Muhairi, Secretary-General of the Zakat Fund said that the organisation has increased its funding to the programme which supports families whose sole providers are in prison. Al Muhairi added that Tawasul's objectives aim to ease the financial difficulties of affected families, help to integrate them into the community, as well as give them a real opportunity to uphold the principles of a crime-free life and not succumb to the pressures of deprivation.
