KUWAIT CITY - Assistant Undersecretary for the Operations Affairs at the Ministry of Interior, Major-General Jamal Al-Sayegh, announced Kuwaitis and expats will be exempted from paying fines if the due date for renewal falls within the specified because of the suspension of services until March 26, 2020, reports Al-Anba daily

Major-General Al-Sayegh said he issued instructions to the police patrols not to issue any citations in this regard, indicating that this matter applies only to those whose driving licenses have expired during the suspension period.

The senior official revealed the cessation of issuing driving licenses from the devices installed in a number of complexes in view of the decision issued by the Council of Minister which forbid gathering in one place to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

In response to a question on the continuity of receiving transactions for renewing licenses electronically, Al-Sayegh said the system is working, but the receipt of licenses from the devices is suspended until the 29th of this month.
