DUBAI, 30th April 2017 (WAM) - In implementation of the directives of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Hussain Nasser Lootah, Director General of Dubai Municipality, has issued a directive to use the "Dubai Font" in all Municipality transactions with immediate effect.

The Dubai Font was recently accomplished in collaboration with Microsoft Corporation, as one of the types of e-writing that combines the authenticity of the past with the future and as the first font in the world to be developed by a city and bearing its name.

Lootah has asked the Municipality officials to begin to implement this font in the Municipalitys operations in line with the directives of the Government of Dubai and in support of the efforts to enhance the Emirate's role and to emphasize its excellence in the digital world.

It is worth mentioning that Sheikh Hamdan had directed the General Secretariat of the Executive Council in January to work on the design of a package of electronic fonts bearing the name of Dubai to include a distinctive font for the Emirate in both Arabic and English that goes in line with the latest international standards for fonts used in the field of information technology.

Lootah stressed that he has instructed the relevant organizational units in the Municipality to work under these instructions as of today.
