Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development has included eight more countries in the list of destinations for hiring house workers.

Speaking to Okaz/Saudi Gazette, Saad Al-Hammad, spokesman for the ministry, said that the number of licensed recruitment companies in the Kingdom has reached 43 companies while the number of total recruitment offices stood at 1,215 offices.

The ministry targets to recruit house workers from eight more Asian and African countries during 2022, he said.

Al-Hammad said the ministry is working hard to diversify the nationalities of house workers in the Kingdom, thereby leaving no room for some labor-exporting countries to put pressure on the Saudi recruitment market and raise the cost of hiring domestic help.

Al-Hammad stressed the importance of making citizens aware of not committing any violations against domestic workers such as delaying salaries and keeping their passports in custody.

He also underscored the need to conclude contracts to hire domestic workers through the ministry’s Musaned portal so as to protect the rights of both parties and avoid disputes.
