TUNIS - Prime Minister Mohamed Ghannouchi received, on Monday in Tunis, Mr. Jean Lemierre adviser to the President of BNP Paribas Group.

The Group holds majority shares in the capital of Tunisia's Union Bancaire pour le Commerce et l'Industrie (UBCI).

Mr. Lemierre described his talk with the prime minister as "positive and useful," pointing out that different aspects of co-operation between Tunisia and BNP Paribas Group had been reviewed.

He added that the talk provided the opportunity to stress the Group's role in materialising this co-operation, particularly in matters of financing of economy, promotion of employment, development of enterprises and exports.

Mr. Lemierre emphasised the positive results scored by the UBCI subsidiary and expressed BNP Paribas' readiness to carry on efforts to increase its contribution to financing projects.
