Egypt's manufacturing and extractive industries index (excluding crude oil and petroleum products) declined by 3.04% month-on-month (MoM) in October 2022, according to a press release by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) on December 29th.

The index recorded 111.79 last October, compared to 115.29 in September, the CAPMAS revealed.

The appliances index dropped by 7.11% MoM to 116.85 in October, while the motor vehicle index plummeted by 16.66% MoM to 166.71 in the same month.

On the other hand, the pharmaceuticals, chemicals, and medicines index grew by 3.88% month-on-month (MoM) to 122.36 in October.

The clothes index increased by 6.04% to 114.25 in October from 107.74 in September.
