The trade exchange between Egypt and Lebanon surged 33% to $502 million in 2021 from $378 million in 2020, Egyptian Minister of Trade and Industry, Ahmed Samir, revealed, according to an official statement on December 19th.

Egyptian exports to Lebanon grew by 18% to $329 million in 2021 from $280 million in 2020, Samir added on the sidelines of a meeting with the Lebanese Minister of Agriculture Abbas Hajj Hassan.

For his part, Hajj commended the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi for the facilitation of the entry of Lebanon’s exports to the Egyptian market.

Hajj reiterated that Lebanon was committed to all trade exchange agreements signed with the Egyptian government.
