RAS JEDIR, April 5, 2011 (TAP) -Messrs.  Salem Mabrouk Abdallah and Jomaa Ibrahim Ammar, two Libyan advisers to foreign communication and international co-operation, crossed into Tunisia Monday through the border post of Ras Jedir  on their way to Djerba-Zarzis international airport where they boarded a flight to Bamako.

Besides, diplomats, businessmen and a delegation of journalists from Jordan, Palestine, Great Britain and Australia, who were on a mission in Libya, also crossed into Tunisia, as well as a large number of ambulances carrying Libyan patients to Tunisia.

Chauffeur-driven cars that took Libyan official to the airport were also authorised by Tunisia's customs to cross back into Libya.

Libyan citizens keep on fleeing their country and crossing to Ras Jedir: 1214 Libyans were recorded in the last 24 hours among the 2652 people who crossed into Tunisia. Besides, 15 Nigerians were allowed to cross into Tunisia although they had no identity documents.

On the other hand, 820 people left Tunisia for Libya, including 812 Libyans and a number of French journalists.

The transit point of Ras Jedir recorded as well on Monday afternoon the entry of several empty lorries coming to load up foodstuffs and return to Libya.

As regards the repatriation of refugees, 5 flights left Djerba-Zarzis airport carrying 780 passengers to Egypt, Chad and Sudan.

The Organisation of the Islamic Conference is supporting evacuation efforts and helped repatriate in the past four days 3000 Sudanese. It is now endeavouring to repatriate Malians and Mauritanians from Tunis-Carthage airport.
