Energy Minister Saleh Kharabsheh called on the industrial sector to benefit from the Jordan Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Fund to reduce operational costs and enhance the sector competitiveness.

During a meeting with members of the Jordan and Amman chambers of industry, Kharabsheh noted that there is an overuse of energy resources, which requires focusing on rationalising consumption.

He stated that some institutions that resorted to saving power reduced their power bills by 60 per cent according to a ministry statement.

For his part, President of the Jordan Chamber of Industry Fathi Jaghbir called for applying “true partnership” between the public and private sectors to enable the industrial sector to realise its envisioned goals mentioned in the Economic Modernisation Vision.

He added that providing natural gas would reduce costs and increase competitiveness.
