SFAX - The 16th edition of "France Aero Rally" has chosen Tunisia, for the fourth successive time, as starting point of its journey across nearly 12 Mediterranean cities in Tunisia, Libya, Greece and France from June 10 to 20, 2010.

The delegation taking part in this rally, which is made up of 50 French aviators, landed at the Airport of Sfax Tyna, in 15 small aircrafts.

Mr. Jean Michel Collin, Secretary-General of the France Aero Rally Association underlined that the choice made on Tunisia for the fourth successive time is due to the availability of all conditions of security, the efforts exerted by officials to mobilise necessary material and logistic means and the large facilities, particularly at the level of air transport, tourism and security.

French aviators of this rally which is dubbed " Rally of Peace and Friendship in the Mediterranean" seized the opportunity of their three-day stay in Tunisia to explore the historical and archeological heritage of Tunisia, particularly in the Sahel region.

In addition to its dimensions which have helped promote Tunisia as a quality tourist destination, this rally has a social dimension, with a set of air trips for children, including disabled, from the Governorates of Sfax and Tunis.

These trips made under the sign" my island and my village as seen from the sky" left the best impressions in the mind of these children and helped them experience the joy of flying over the sky of the city of Sfax and Kerkennah islands for two hours without interruption.

The rally, which ended its three-day first stage in Tunisia, on Sunday, left Sfax international airport to the Airport of Tripoli, the second stage of its journey of peace and security in the Mediterranean.
