Wyndham Group to build iconic Bahrain hotel

MANAMA: Wyndham Hotel Group, the worlds largest hotel company, has announced plans for the first Wyndham Grand property in Bahrain.

The announcement follows the signing of an agreement with Sharia-compliant real estate developer Cooperation Investment House to manage the building in Manamas Bahrain Bay development.

The five-star hotel is expected to be completed by December 2013 with more than 260 guest rooms ranging from 46 square metres to 120 sq m. The hotel will occupy 14 floors of a 50-storey mixed use development, and will also include 500 sq m of meeting space and a 900 sq m ballroom on the top floor.

The property will also have indoor and outdoor infinity swimming pools and separate health clubs for men and women. Meanwhile five food and beverage outlets will cater to a variety of tastes.

Bahrain Bay is a $2.5 billion waterfront district designed around residential, commercial and retail neighbourhoods.

The main contractor for the project is Ahmed al Qaed Construction and the project architect is Aref Sadeq Design Consultants. The hotel is designed by dwp.
