Webedia Esports Agency has acquired gaming and e-sports platform SaudiGamer.com, through its local arm Webedia Arabia Group.
In a statement issued Wednesday, Webedia Arabia said it aims to strengthen SaudiGamer.com and its social channels to make it the premium hub for gamers. This will involve enhanced coverage of events and exclusive content.
“Although we had multiple offers in the past, I found that Webedia Arabia Group is the only company that can take SaudiGamer.com to the next level. I'm really excited about this and what it means for the future of the platform,” said Mashour Aldubayan, SaudiGamer.com’s founder, who will serve as an advisor.
“The new wave of gaming capabilities and expertise for our dedicated gamers is going to be spectacular,” he added.
UTURN, an Arabic content entertainment network which is also part of Webedia Arabia Group, will be involved in SaudiGamer.com's evolution.
While the value of the deal was not mentioned, the statement said SaudiGamer.com had over 2 million users and 2.5 million subscribers on YouTube in 2020
Saudi Arabia is considered the 19th biggest gaming market in the world, with revenue topping $1.09 billion, according to NEWZOO Gaming Report.
