DOHA: Vodafone Qatar yesterday launched its high speed mobile broadband services to give their ever growing number of customers more convenience in accessing the Internet anywhere in the country.

Vodafone Qatar CEO, Grahame Maher said they decided to formally launch mobile broadband with highest data carrier in the region at 900 Megahertz that can handle a large volume of traffic since their broadband services is now very close to full capacity.

Both Maher and Markus Bikker, Vodafone Qatar Product Manager, have assured that users of the mobile broadband services need not worry wherever they want to access the Internet since they already cover 100 percent of areas in Qatar.

And for those who are more advanced and updated with their tech gadgets, Vodafone mobile broadband is also available with a Vodafone Micro SIM which supports iPad and iPhone4.

Bikker said they offer simple price plans for the mobile broadband services. Customers using the QR100 Freedom can avail of a 2 gigabytes of data good for 30 days and any unused value will be carried over for another 30 days. Red customers can enjoy 500MB of data for QR100 valid for 60 days.

To celebrate the launch, Vodafone has offered Mobile Broadband on Red customers a double data value from 500MB to 1GB and the promotion will last until August 15 this year.

"We're delighted to be launching another great Vodafone service. As with all Vodafone's services, mobile broadband from Vodafone offers customers simple and easy to understand price plans that are of good value," Maher said. Vodafone mobile broadband sticks that allow a plug-and-play connection to the Internet for customers that want to use the laptop or PC, are available for purchase in four different cool colours for QR299. For even better value, customers can get a special bundle: USB stick, SIM card and first mobile broadband pack for QR399.

For even more flexibility customers can get the Vodafone MiFi for QR599, which creates WiFi hotspot wherever it's switched on and lets customers connect up to five devices simultaneously to the Internet. This way, customers can have their laptop, iPod and Playstation Portable all going at once.

Vodafone's mobile broadband sticks and MiFi can be purchased at all Vodafone's retail stores and at Vodafone's online store.
