The American University of Sharjah (AUS) yesterday signed an agreement for the installation and use of a High Performance Computational Cluster (HPCC) with Gulf Digital Solutions (GDS).

The agreement sees the first-ever commodity supercomputer for academic use to be installed by GDS for the AUS School of Engineering and the Computer Science Department.

The ceremony was attended by Dr Winfred Thompson, AUS Chancellor; R. Amr Abdel Hamid, Vice Chancellor, Academic Affairs; Dr Leland Blank, Dean of the School of Engineering; and Joseph Mack Stiles, CEO of GDS.
