DAMASCUS - Representative of The UN Development Program (UNDP) in Syria Ali al-Zatari signed Tuesday several agreements related to developing projects in Syria with representatives of five non-governmental associations.

According to the agreements the UNDP will grant the NGOs  about USD 226000 within the framework of the Small Grants Program subordinated by the UN.

The agreements provided for preserving the living and natural resources of olives' mountains northern Syria, using the solar energy in the northeastern province of Der al-Zour and implementing tourism environmental centers in the natural reserve of Mar Mousa in Damascus countryside and rehabilitating lands as well as planting natural plants in the province of Idleb in the northeast.

"UNDP will supervise and follow up all projects financed by Small Grants Program in Syria," al-Zatari told SANA reporter.
