Amman - President of the Senate, Taher al-Masri and Speaker of the Lower House of Parliament, Abdul Karim al-Dughmi on Monday separately met with visiting Ukrainian President, Viktor Yanukovych, and discussed ways to enhance Jordanian-Ukrainian ties in parliamentary affairs.
The meetings dealt with Jordan's march of democracy, development and the political reform process led by His Majesty the King, as well as current developments in the region.
The Ukrainian president highly appreciated Jordan's role in the region, stressing that two countries saw eye-to-eye on various international and regional issues.
President of the Senate, Taher al-Masri stressed the importance of enhancing bilateral ties in political and economic domains.
Lower House Speaker, Abdul Karim al-Dughmi, told Petra that the House is keen on fostering parliamentary ties with Ukraine, noting that he has received an invitation to visit the East European nation in May.
