Addis Ababa, Jul 27th, 2012 (WAM)-- al-Sheikh Ahmedin Abdullah, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Muslim Affairs in Ethiopia has hailed the efforts of UAE charity and humanitarian agencies in easing the suffering of the needy in Ethiopia.

Abdullah made the remarks, while receiving UAE Ambassador to Ethiopia Dr Yusuf Hassan Al Saberi, who is also UAE Permanent Representative to African Union (AU) in Addis Ababa. The two sides discussed the relations and ways to boost them.

The Ethiopian official called on the UAE charity bodies to double their humanitarian aid, lauding the role of the UAE in assisting Muslims worldwide in general and Ethiopia in particular. He cited the grand mosques constructed by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan in Ethiopia.
