ABU DHABI - The Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) of the Department of Municipalities and Transport in Abu Dhabi has announced the launch of a number of Tesla electric vehicles in cooperation with Arabia Taxi Transportation to support the fleet of environmentally friendly taxis.

ITC aims to establish an integrated, clean and sustainable transport environment, keeping pace with developments in the transport sector and supporting the sustainable development goals in Abu Dhabi.

On this occasion, Abdullah Al Marzouqi, Director-General of the ITC, said that the operation of these vehicles will support the emirate's ambitious vision and the "Green Economy for Sustainable Development" initiative, further contributing to enhancing energy efficiency, reducing carbon emissions, increasing customer happiness, and making the Emirate of Abu Dhabi a distinguished sustainable and environmentally friendly transport model.

Sheikh Sultan Majid Hamad Al Qasimi, Managing Director of Arabia Taxi Transportation, confirmed that the launch of Tesla electric vehicles to work within the company's fleet comes within the framework of Abu Dhabi’s vision to implement sustainable transport solutions and will contribute to reducing carbon emissions, fuel consumption rates, and the costs of periodic maintenance of vehicles."

The launch of Tesla vehicles was announced in line with the launch of the Integrated Transport Centre, a set of workshops, events and interactive activities in numerous locations in Abu Dhabi, including public places, schools and universities, from 8th to 17th March.
