UAE warning for Zoom users: Vulnerabilities detected on video platform

The UAE's Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA) has issued a warning to users of the video platform Zoom.

In a statement posted on social media, TDRA said vulnerabilities have been detected in the platform, due to which users' devices may be compromised.

The authority urged residents to update the program and ensure they have installed the latest version.

In a statement to Khaleej Times, Zoom's spokesperson said that the security issue has now been resolved. The video calling platform urged users to update the latest version of the app.

“As detailed on our Zoom Security Bulletin page, we have already resolved these security issues. As always, we recommend users keep up to date with the latest version of Zoom to take advantage of Zoom’s latest features and security updates. Zoom also offers automatic updates to help users stay on the latest version.”
