BEIRUT (Zawya Dow Jones)--Syria isn't facing any problems in importing or exporting petroleum and its derivatives, Damascus-based Al Watan daily reports Monday citing the country's deputy oil minister Hassan Zainab.
The economic sanctions imposed on Syria didn't and won't affect this sector at all, Zainab said according to the paper.
The Syrian regime has been subject in recent months to U.S. and European sanctions due to alleged tough handling of political protests there.
