Syrian Tourism Minister Sadallah Agha Al-Qala hoped that the country's ties with Iran's Fars province will develop.

In a meeting with Fars province governor general Mohammad Reza Rezazadeh, he said that his visit to the country indicates bilateral friendly and historical ties between the two brotherly countries.

Al-Qala further added that exchange of visits by the two countries' tourism officials demonstrate the depth of mutual relations.

Expressing pleasure with the increase in the number of Iranian pilgrims to Syria, he also said that his country tries to offer the best services and welfare facilities to them.

Referring to Iran's proper participation in Silk Road Festival, Al-Qala stressed that such participation in international gatherings would continue.

Iranian nationals' visits to the country should not be limited to pilgrimage purposes; rather they should tour other Syrian attractions.

Rezazadeh, for his part, hoped that Iran would play an active role in the festival.

Pointing to Syria's location as meeting point of civilizations, he said that this has turned the country into the best venue for hosting the festival.

He also invited Al-Qala to take part in Middle East Tourism Exhibition which will be held in Shiraz from November 21-24.
