AMMAN (JT) - Jordanian nationals in possession of a valid Schengen visa are entitled to enter Switzerland, as of December 12, 2008, according to a statement issued by the Swiss embassy in Amman yesterday.
A valid Schengen visa allows its holder to travel freely within the Schengen space and within Switzerland.
Swiss visas will still be valid until the date of expiry, but will not entitle the holder to enter other Schengen states, the embassy said.
Jordanian citizens, who are holders of a permanent residence card/permit of the US, Canada, the UK and Ireland will need a Schengen visa to enter Switzerland, the statement said, adding that the embassy of Switzerland in Amman will start accepting applications for Schengen visas as of today (Monday, December 15).
The new Schengen visa application form is available free of charge at the embassy or can be downloaded from its website (http://www.eda.admin.ch/amman).
