Frankfurt, Oct 12th, 2012 (WAM)--H. H. Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council member and ruler of Sharjah attended last night a dinner banquet hosted by the Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF) in Frankfurt in honour of the participant foreign publishing houses in the 64th edition of the Frankfurt International Book Fairs.
H. H. Sheikh Bodour bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairperson of Emirates Publishers Association attended the event. Sheikh Sultan welcomed the major foreign publishers, hoping the UAE which has attained the full membership of the International Publishers Association (IPA), would benefit from their long experience in this respect. He congratulated Sheikha Bodour and the board members of the Association for the achievement, the first of its kind at the GCC level. Sheikh Sultan urged the Association members to exert utmost efforts to upgrade the publishing industry in the UAE through benefiting from other experiences in the area of publishing. For their part, the foreign publishers commended Sheikh Sultan for his support to the publishers in the UAE. They also congratulated the Association members for joining the IPA. Ibrahim Mohammed Jumaa Al Mansouri, Charge d' Affairs of UAE Embassy in Germany, Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Owais, Head of the Department of Culture and Information in Sharjah, Dr Amr Abdul Hamid, Adviser to Sharjah Ruler for the Higher Education and Scientific Research Affairs, Ahmed bin Rakad Al A'meri, Director of the SIFT, Osama Samr, Director of the Sharjah Media Centre and other dignitaries were also present.Copyright Emirates News Agency (WAM) 2012.
