Dubai, Jan. 28, 2008 (WAM) - SolarDrive, the Danish company revolutionising the world of golf, has launched their efficient technology that enables golf carts to drive on pure solar power at GolfEx Dubai, a two-day conference-exhibition bringing together the most influential figures and leaders throughout the golfing world.
Due to the innovative nature of the technology, SolarDrive will enable Golf clubs and hotel resorts to cut their operating costs within their golf cart fleet by significantly improving efficiency. As each SolarDrive operated cart can be operated throughout the day without having to be recharged it is possible for businesses to considerably reduce the size of the operating golf cart fleet, in turn bringing down the logistic costs. SolarDrive technology is also environmentally friendly, using solar cells to generate electricity rather than using conventional methods which can be expensive and potentially damaging. The unique SolarDrive technology is incorporated into a modular roof that easily fits onto almost all existing cart makes and sizes. The technology works even whilst driving in cloudy weather using a proprietary electronic control system. Following several recent initiatives and major golfing announcements, such as the Dubai World Championship, GolfExDubai provides the ultimate location for hosting an event focusing on the future of golf and the golfing industry and for launching pioneering golf initiatives to the world. Managing director of SolarDrive Distribution, Peter Randow, agrees: "Dubai is the place to be, when doing business in the Golf and Leisure industry. This area is attracting a lot of industry attention because of the significant and diversified tourism, SolarDrive is certain that starting out in Dubai will make market recognition and penetration easier than would be the case in any European country. Furthermore, it is officially known that Dubai is committed to environmentally friendly business practices, and here SolarDrive fits very well."GolfEx Dubai 2007 attracted over 500 participants over the two day conference, interacting with industry leaders such as IMG, ISM, The European Tour, The Asian Tour, The Sunshine Tour, Gary Player Design, Troon, European Tour Productions, TPL and Great White Shark Enterprises amongst others. GolfEx Dubai 2008 once again aims to attract top industry leaders and an increased number of participants.
