Sharjah: The Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority has launched the Sharjah Charity Association’s Ramadan charity drive to support various humanitarian projects and charitable causes in the country and around the world.
Khalid Jasem Al Midfa, director general of the tourism authority, said that the charity drive aims to help needy students, orphans, poor families and schools, clinics and mosques not only during the month of Ramadan but throughout the year. The Sharjah Charity Association has identified 85 locations across the emirate where it will distribute over 17,000 iftar meals throughout the month.
In addition to the 33 locations in the city of Sharjah, the iftar service will be offered at 18 locations in the city of Dhaid, 12 locations in the city of Khor Fakkan, 11 locations in Kalba and seven sites in the city of Dibba Al Hisn. The iftar meal service will cost a total of Dh5 million. The Association is also planning iftar gatherings in 45 countries in coordination with the UAE foreign missions at a total cost of one million dirhams.
