Nizwa, Oman, Apr. 8, 2007 (WAM) -- H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultanbin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler ofSharjah early today toured the Jebel Al Akhdar region of Oman.
Accompanied by the Interior Minister of Oman, Saud binIbrahim Al Bu-Saeedi, who is also the Head of the Honorary Mission accompanying the Sharjah Ruler, Sheikh Sultan visited many places in this beautiful tourist destination which is located about 150 kilometres from the Omani capital, Muscat.
Located in the hinterland, the Jebel Al Akhdar is a richtourist spot blessed with green vegetation and mountainous landscape which add up to its serenity and beauty, making it a unique tourist attraction.
Overwhelmed by the beauty of the region, Sheikh Sultancommended the Omani government for its great efforts and for the major development in the country's tourism sector and other development sectors. He said this reflects the great care SultanQaboos attaches to development and progress of his country.
Sheikh Sultan was accompanied on the tour by a delegationmade up of Sheikh Essam bin Saqr bin Humaid Al Qasimi, Chief of the Sharjah Ruler's Office, Abdul Rahman bin Ali Al Jarwan, Advisor at theSharjah Emiri Court, a number of officials, Mohammed Ali Al Asimi,UAE Ambassador and Sheikh Mohammed bin Marhoon Al Mammary, Omani Ambassador to the UAE.
